Hello,
I published a free utility in CodeBase, "Prop-Firm Equity Guard" (code/77350), and later a paid,
extended version in the Market, "Prop Firm Equity Guard Pro".
Before changing anything, I would like to follow the rules correctly:
1) Is it allowed to mention the Pro version (by its Market name) in the CodeBase description?
2) Is it allowed to show a small, optional on-chart text or button in the free version that names
the Pro version? No DLL, no external links, and it can be hidden with an input parameter.
If neither is allowed, what is the correct way to let users of the free version know that an
extended version exists?
Thank you.

Hello Christian,
It's a good thing that are cautious and wants to follow community standards closely.
Here are some guidelines you need to follow.
1. You can usually mention the exact name of the Market product in your text description, but you cannot include a direct hyperlink to it. Your CodeBase submission must be a fully functional, open-source tool (with the .mq5 or .mq4 source file included). If moderators determine the CodeBase entry is just a crippled "demo" designed solely to advertise the paid version, it will be rejected.
2. On-chart text or buttons is highly discouraged. The moderation team strictly polices built-in terminal advertising. Even if the button is optional, uses no external links, and is hidden by default, embedding promotional text directly on the chart will almost certainly get your submission flagged. Keep the UI focused entirely on the utility's core function.
3. Provide a genuinely useful, standalone tool in the CodeBase. At the very end of your description, you can include a brief, factual note such as: "An extended version with additional features, Prop Firm Equity Guard Pro, is available in the Market."
Users who appreciate your free open-source code will naturally click on your author profile to explore your Market products. Keep the CodeBase submission focused on providing immediate value, and the conversions will follow organically.
Best wishes with the Pro release!

Thank you very much for the clear and detailed answer, I really appreciate you taking the time.
I followed your advice right away:
- removed the on-chart button and all promotional text from the code (v1.12 is the same protection logic as v1.10, only the file was renamed),
- kept the CodeBase version fully functional and open-source,
- added only a short factual note at the end of the description, without a link.
This helps me a lot, especially as a new seller. Thanks again and have a great day!
