Do all brokers always share the exact same stable build? I have just downloaded MetaTrader 5 from one broker and noticed that its build is 5836.
now i am stuck at even newer 5968 what should i do?
Why stuck ?

Yeah unfortunately when you download from a broker, you don't get the last release but the last public beta (current beta is not send to brokers yet, so it's 5836).
Alain, perhaps the question should be phrased differently.
Is it possible to develop in MQL using MetaTrader 5/MetaEditor downloaded from mql5.com, and run tests on Hedging/Netting accounts using the MetaQuotes-Demo server (which is very convenient, so you don't have to look for brokers that offer both account types), but without downloading beta builds?
This exact issue has already been discussed in this forum thread, and judging by the discussion, it was fixed and had nothing to do with the builds at all:

No it's not possible.

MetaQuotes is advised about the situation. They will check tomorrow I guess.

Unfortunately i run my MT5 on Mac and i am unable to use those. But thanks for your help.
Definitely buyers should update and it's best practice for sellers to compile on latest build
is there a way to check before compiling whether the build we're on is stable or still beta? Feels like it's easy to compile on a beta build by accident if MT5 auto-updates you onto one without a clear warning.
Yes. check your build version in Help > About . Then check this page and search recent posts, if you see that build number post it means its stable else its not.
