How to open multiple MT5 instances on Mac?

[Deleted]

Good morning, hope you're doing well.

Quick question — how can I open multiple MT5 instances on a Mac?

Here's the issue: on Windows, there's a "destination selection" option that lets me rename the installation folder, so I can have multiple MT5 copies with custom names like "MT5 Clear," "MT5 [edit] and so on. On Mac, I can't edit that. I can install multiple copies, but they end up with numbered suffixes — and I can't change those either.

The real problem is: when I open "MT5 1" and then try to open "MT5 2," the second one closes the first. Then if I try to reopen the first one, it closes the second. I can't keep both open at the same time the way I easily can on Windows.

Is there any solution on Mac to open multiple MT5 instances and rename each one?

Or would it be better to just install Windows on a VirtualBox just for this purpose? (Not an option to format the Mac and switch to Windows, though.)

(I sent a few screenshots to help explain the situation better.)

Many users, myself included, have found running MT5 on macOS to be tricky at the moment, due to compatibility issues. One solution that works well is using Windows via Parallels Desktop on your Mac. This setup tends to be stable, allowing you to run multiple MT5 instances and focus on your trading strategy without worrying about crashes, critical issues or other technical headaches.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
