I am trying to create extra MT5 terminals (windows) on my laptop by using the following steps:
1) Locate Installation: Go to the folder where MT5 is installed (usually C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5).
2) Copy Folder: Copy the entire MetaTrader 5 folder and paste it (e.g., as C:\Program Files\MT5-2).
to create portable mt5, copying the folder from programs folder rarely worked for me. I assume that i broke the encryption of some of mt5's files would also break initialisation of mt5. So i recommend/suggest that you dont just copy the folder, but instead, only put the 3 exe files into your portable folder, and also copy the Sounds folder and place the copy into your portable folder too.
After you have confirmed that your portable mt5 works, via your shortcut that you have added the /portable suffex to, then, you can copy your expert/indicator/include folders into your portable folder.
Since I have done this in this order, I have not had any issues with starting my portable mt5's.
Note that copying files from marketplace is also very much unpredictable; works half the time, other half it dont; and i have to install them again via marketplace.
No need for the /mobile modifier. Each install can have a separate account or share the same ome.

3) Create Shortcut: Open the new folder, right-click terminal64.exe, and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).
4) Edit Path: Right-click the new desktop shortcut, select Properties, and in the "Target" field, add /portable at the end.
Example: ..."terminal64.exe" /portable
5) Launch: Use this shortcut to open a completely new, independent terminal.
I did all the above, launched, managed to sign in with my Demo account and received a verbal confirmation "Incoimng mail" that I successfully connected to my Demo account. However, right after, a crazy loop begins - I keep hearing the "success" and "failure" sounds one after another in a loop, and a frame of a dialog window shows up on the right, disappears, shows up again. No charts appear, or Navigator, or Terminal, or Market.
I took a video of the entire process but couldn't attach it here - I uploaded it to my personal YT channel as an unlisted video, whoever could help please take a look and advise.

I tried:
1) Uninstalling MT5 altogether, installing it anew, creating the same type of copy - same issue.
2) Fixing the Microsoft Edge WebView2 - no improvement. Please note I cannot uncheck any options related to web requests in Options, because I will be using copiers for signals and these specifically demand this option to be checked and specific sites to be whitelisted.
Anybody anythig? I can't figure it out.... Signal providers can't help, my broker couldn't help either.
Thanks!
