Metatrader 5 Build 5505 MetaTester is broken. Will not test - Confirmed - page 2

I have also had a farm of 3 PC's and when I had copied an existing "working version" of MetaTrader Strategy Tester Agent and Terminal it can create and run the services without any errors including this SYSTEM winodws 1053 errors reported by others. I have tested the flaw on Window 10 Pro 64 22H2 and Windows 11 Pro 64 bit 24H2 / 25H2.  WIth Windows AV FW on and off including folder and file exception rules.

Version that I used on a copied version of MetaTrader 5 was 5478 which I do not want to update on one working version of the farm is as - 5.00 5478 12 Dec 2025.

To summarise after version 5.00 5478 the product was flawed with issues working with time series downloads in the journal area and also the strategy tester.  The latest version I have tested and still broken is 5.00 5512 20 Jan 2026 Build.

We need the changelog of what has changed since 5478 for both historical downloading of back-testing and forward-testing plus the MetaTrader Strategy Tester Agent.

Do no use beta versions if you don't want to be a beta-tester.

Last official release is still 5430.

In case you got an BETA update, for whatever reason, and you want to move to the last official release :

  • A Telegram channel has been created, you will always find there the last official release needed exe files.
  • MT5 Terminal is available in several versions according to your CPU capabilities. You can check which version you have to use in the Journal log, at the first entries after you started MT5.

Here my version is AVX2, an other possibility is X64

  • With this information you will know which zip file to download.


  • You then just have to replace your current exe files with the ones from the Zip. If you don't know how to do, then doing this operation is probably not a good idea.

After MT5 is restarted, you will have the last official release.

If you don't want to get beta-build updates again :

  • NEVER connect to MetaQuotes-Demo server.
  • NEVER use MT5 Terminal Help menu=>Check for Updates=>Last Beta Version.
