A lot of curious people which "don't have an idea" 😄

I am surprised there are still sellers with 50/50 sales.

Yeah, it's starting to look like a "which platform to use" utility for new traders.😅

You should have added an extra option for "I'm not a seller! Just show me the results", so that you can differentiate between the curious non-sellers and the sellers that don't know.

Yeah, anyway we don't even know if everyone voted seriously, so it doesn't really matter.

"MT4 still dominant" can you believe that ? It's from a seller which doesn't sell MT5 versions I guess.

I can believe that there is someone in a not so developed location in the world who states that MT4 is still dominant.

Per a broker-dealer's website, minimum system requirements for running MT4 are:

  • CPU: Pentium 1GHz (Recommended: 2GHz or higher)
  • Memory (RAM): 512MB or more (Recommended: 1GB or more)
  • Monitor Resolution: 800 x 600 or higher (Recommended: 1024 x 768)

Also, a user in such a location has little reason to research a broker-dealer/platform that she/he can't use.

The question should only be valid for products that are available for both platforms, but I am sure some did not think objectively about the question.

When I answered, I only considered sales for those products for which I have both.

However, It is also interesting to consider the downloads for free products too.

In my case, I have the following statistics:

  MT4  MT5
Sales 4 7  36 : 64
Downloads 1671 6542  20 : 80

I'm not so sure that scientific survey methodology can be readily imported into a Forum Poll. Similarly to the way in which curious users (not only Sellers) will have a desire to view the results, MT4 users (not only Sellers) could seek to promote the availability of waning MT4 products simply by clicking to create the appearance of more demand.

At the end of the day, the Poll would have to verify that a user is a Seller prior to said user participating in the Poll.

In my experience, MT4 is slowly losing its advantages and more and more people are switching to MT5.

I think everything needs to be transferred to mt5.

Although I can’t translate some utilities myself yet.

Unfortunately, that would risk totally excluding traders sitting at the technological bottom from using MetaTrader:

Don't you think that if that person does not have the funds for a more modern computer, then it is also obvious that they don't have the funds to trade either?

So, that is not a valid excuse for holding onto MT4 just because it still works on older and lower-end computers. Those users cannot be considered part of the demographic because they don't have the funds to trade anyway.
