I'm new to MT5 and trying to find the best way of having multiple charts and timeframes open and switching between them.
I've tried profiles and have found that if there are a lot of charts, indicators and objects then it's slow switching and the charts can be glitched.
Before I go unistalling and trying portable mode I just wanted to check a few things.
Using portable mode can I have the instances installed on a NAS to access from multiple PC's (not simultaneously)? Obviously each instance of MT5 will need to login so do brokers allow simultaneous logins of the same account? I've contacted my broker with this question and I am waiting on a response.
Thanks for your help
MT5 is a very "manual" platform... I understand what you want... but until then, I don't know if there is any way to do this... and even if you program it, I don't think it will be good... do you use ninjatrader?

The reason that i use portable mt5, is because "in the past", and with normal install of mt5, windows could cause issues when doing its own updates and or when mt5 does its own updates, it might break the filesystem, forcing a full reinstall of mt5, and all the headaches that come with setting up community login and such.
I gave up on using multiple profiles, cept for when i used the built in vps, i have a profile saved for that when i migrated my ea to the vps.
Instead, I now have multiple installs of portable mt5 folders, some on same account, all running at same time, each with different timeframes and charts. Yes it can take a good 30 seconds or longer to initially load each terminal, but once started up, all works as smooth as silk.
Yes, you can login to same account on any broker, just not on the same terminal/mt5 installation. You can also login to multiple accounts with the same broker and run each account at same time, just not on same mt5 instance.
