single test != optimiser result

statement and question.

I do a test with optimiser and have list of results from that optimisation; but when i right click on that line of results, and click do single test, I get a very different result. WTF why?

Nothing has changed. I only did the test on Monday. The optimiser finished today and i did single test, and get different results.

Is there something that I can check? or change? The data is new as of Monday just gone.

For me, everything goes as should when I start with Overview ==> Single in the Tester.

i believe it. i was about to edit and remove my full post. It is working after another few reboots of computer, and the right click on the line of the optimiser, do single test, is NOW WORKING as it should. single test via the right click is now 100% same as in the line of optimiser results.

Ever delete your backtest history?

yeah both history and ticks all new as of Monday just gone.

I may copy the full tester folder to 2nd drive and then back again to defrag the files tomoz. Maybe the files are fragmented and mt or windows merely tripped over itself.

EDIT: i meant that it is new portable install as of Monday, just gone, also.

For what's it worth... I periodically delete my unwanted files from MQL5 ==> Profiles ==> Tester. I had problems years ago when I didn't.

ditto. i often do the same, and have advised the same in other threads multiple times in just these last 3 days.

Yes — single tests can differ from optimizer due to:

Different modeling (Every tick" vs "1-minute OHLC)

Data updates between runs

Floating spread vs fixed spread

Random seed if EA uses randomness

Check tester settings: same modeling mode, spread, and data period.
