If you do not have the .mq4 file (the source code) you cannot make any modification on the program.

You can not modify unless you have source file. You can still use your .ex4 file to attach on chart. As long as the owner has not locked it, it will work perfectly. You can check on your journal/expert tab to see whats happening…
