It was many years ago, and there are several old threads on the forum with this EA with many versions (former tsd forum threads).
You can use search to find (I do not have time to deep search for this EA now).

Can i have your feedback and experience using NewsTrader EA and What kind of News Trading Strategy it was? BuyStop/SellStop or something different?

Are you talking about this one : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/175898 (This thread is started by you)

Just a side note regarding recent news...

The current U.S. Presidential Administration is rapidly changing its policy positions, causing chaotic intraday volatility. The big funds and investment groups are pulling their hair out, while high frequency traders are having a field day. This affects all things that are USD related. We're talking about 10% to 200% U.S. tariffs here. Anyone who can quantify this deserves a gold star.⭐

Yes, and some other threads as well.
I am sorry but I do not want to remind myself about it because it was more than 10 years ago for Metatrader 4, and because this EA was using some other calendar websites (not this MQL5 calendar).

It is the main strategy which was used in that time - more than 10 years ago (pips = 4 digit pips):

input string     ordInputs            = "===== Order settings: =====";
input int        OrdersNum            =         2;       //Number of pending orders from one side
input int        HiPrice              =         0;       //Buy Price
input int        LoPrice              =         0;       //Sell Price
input int        PriceShift           =         0;       //Price Shift
input double     PendOrdGap           =        15;       //Gap for Pending Orders from current price in pips
input double     OrdersStep           =        10;       //Step between orders in pips
input bool       DeleteOpposite       =      true;       //Opposite Orders delete
input bool       TrailOpposite        =      true;       //Opposite Orders trailing
input bool       CloseOnNewEvent      =      true;       //Close Orders On New Event

input double     InitialStop          =        30;       //Initial Stop in pips
input double     TakeProfit           =       100;       //Take Profit in pips

input double     TrailingStop         =        15;       //Trailing Stop in pips
input double     TrailingStep         =         0;       //Trailing Stop Step in pips

input double     BreakEven            =         0;       //Breakeven in pips
input double     PipsLock             =         0;       //Lock in pips

------------------

It was for MT4.

But I am more interesting for any news (calendar tools/indicators/EAs) for Metatrader 5 now.

So, it is 409 points or 41 pips ... not 500 pips ... 41 pips only in both direction totally (in total).
It means - if you place buy stop order and sell stop order so those pending orders may be executed in almost simultanius way and those 2 orders may be closed in loss by stop loss for example.

Yes, the initial strategy (I manually traded it as well without any EAs):

  • place 2 pending orders (buy stop and sell stop; 20 or 15 pips above the price, and 20 or 15 pips pips below the price; 4-digit pips) few minutes before high impacted news event which we want to trade; with initial stop loss as 100 pips (it was 30 pips as default but I decided to use it as 100 pips just because the price is very spiky with some high impacted news events and because I mainly traded NFP once in a month),
  • and take profit as 100 pips as well,
  • and with trailing stop as 15 pips (yes, that is why I was talking about "price movement to one direction" (because we have trailing stop as 15 pips).
  • If one pending order is executed so the other one (opposite one) is automatically deleted. We can close already executed order as/when we want but it should be before other news event (and I prefer to keep it 15 or 20 minutes after order was executed, and after that - close it).
  • If no any pending order is executed so we should delete those 2 pending orders after 10 or 15 minutes after we placed them.

-----------------------

It was just manual trading system to trade news events (you can try with it if you want - without any EA for example).

anuj71:
Hello,

Could you please provide a list of Forex calendar news events that typically result in significant price movements (more than 500 pips) in the Forex market?

For example:
  • USD Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP): Average price movement is 500–1000 pips.
  • USD Consumer Price Index (CPI): Price movement ranges between 700–1200 pips.
  • CHF Consumer Price Index (CPI): Price movement ranges between 400–700 pips.

Similarly, could you please share a list of other high-impact Forex events that cause substantial price movements?

Note : Not all High Impact news create just big price change.

Thank you!

To answer your question - the magnitude of the spike depends on the overall context and market expectations. Usually when some news/data is surprising, the response could be significant if not priced in beforehand.
