Spam by sellers; no prior contact. - page 2

Oh, so you meant, "Friend Requests", and not PM's nor subscriptions to channels.

In that case, then no, that is not against the rules in any way, and it definitely does not "breach many laws around the world" as you so put it.

If it were "ilegal", then all of social media would have a problem (and in real life too).

A "friend request" does not in any way violate any laws, and it expressly offers you the option to decline or accept. There is obviously nothing to report.

EDIT: Your initial post is thus misleading, because you mention "spam" in the title, and obviously, a "Friend Request" is not spam.

you can use words like "misleading" or "opt-in" or any words you want. The facts are that these users are even labelled as "sellers" by the site. This means that they are on the site for a profit activity. Any contact with me has to have prior permission from me -- before they can contact me, whether that be direct message OR opt-in. The invite mentions their name on the invite or friend request, therefore, the invite is made on behalf of a business entity, therefore is spam, if I have not given them permission to do so prior to them sending me the invite or friend request. Makes no difference if it is opt-in.

these are the settings i have. how do i stop incoming invites from other sellers?

You can write to the service desk about it.
May be - bug, may be - not.
The service desk only can check it.

------------------------

Because I know two ways of spam here:

  • someone subscribed me to his channel (without my permission),
  • or someone sent me a spam private message.
..and I can stop this spam by changing the privacy settings in my profile.

    ------------------------

How to write to the service desk?
It is your post telling to all the users that we (moderators) have no idea about ... <and so on>:
so you will find the way to contact without moderators' participation in it.

    ------------------------

And it is the other your post with telling that the MetaQuotes company (the service desk) is having bad business, and they should change their business according to your suggestions:

    ------------------------

Besides, you were writing on the forum (many times during the past two years) that "That is why I do not buy stuff on marketplace anymore".
So, ask the service desk to ban you from any products for buying from the Market (and for selling on the Market).

    ------------------------

They (the service desk) validated you here so speak directly with them without every forum member to be involved in your situation ("Michael Charles Schefe vs MetaQuotes company"). This forum is the public place, and not a place for battle between you and MetaQuotes company.

      Yes.
Because this kind of spam or "spam" is unknown for me ...
