Can I / should I send my EA file (not source code) to a dev when commissioning?

Hello, I am new to this forum and don’t wish to break any rules. I am trying to commission a tweak to my EA , I send them the parameters I want to keep and then they write an extra code so I can make pipstep customisable…

They have asked to me to send the EA over to have a look at… is that something that’s allowed and/or proper practice for them to ask ? 

I don’t have to source code to send them as bought from a reseller

well if it was a free EA it's allowed, otherwise if it wasn't free..the activation is tied to your pc, so if you still have another activation the other developer will use it. which seems OK if you weren't going to use it anyway? but I would ask the marketplace support if it's ok to make sure
