Discussion of article "Take a few lessons from Prop Firms (Part 1) — An introduction" - page 4

Great article, something to learn from.

As a prop firm trader, this is an excellent article. I'm dying to know which one has a 12% absolute drawdown!

I might just add that given the nature of prop firms drawdown requirements, Recovery Factor and LR Correlation (which can be added as a custom OnTester() criteria) are probably the two most important metrics for maximizing your profitability while minimizing the likelihood of failing the challenge or blowing the live account.

Great article. Good job! Im just missing some compare table at the end of few companies you researched.

The article is not about "prop trading". It is about what lessons we can be learn from their rules.

Besides, providing a comparison list/table would be considered advertising which is against website rules.

Okay, understood. Thank you

This is a very interesting article Fernando; some great points regarding: risk management, psychology and sensible trading styles. A great reminder of simple aspects we should all consider in our trading journeys. I love how you have written these reminders in parallel to prop firms which are very popular in the modern game.

Excellent article, Fernando! None of this should be news to any serious trader, but I've rarely seen all these points listed and summarised in this way.

Just for information, here in Brazil prop firms are called "proprietary trading desks".

Yes, I know! In Portugal too, but I didn't write the Portuguese version - MetaQuotes did.

I wrote the original English version. MetaQuotes was in charge of translating it into the other languages.

Got it! I should have realised it wasn't your translation; now that you've said it, it's obvious ;)

Congratulations again!
