Most often it was twenty-four hours, trading days.
Although the same Demark highly recommended hourly charts for the best entries, and the same Gunn in a day from 100 dollars went up to the plane (I do not remember, something about 10000 at those times)....
And pitchforks, and Murray's system (there is my article on this site, there can be also... interesting, who is interested), and Adverza Tactics work for me on all timeframes, on which I trade; the main thing is to combine pictures from older and younger ones and not to confuse soft with warm ;-)
And one more thing - it is very important in all charting systems known to me to work on the opening of the candle, not on the current price. Exceptions can be "iron" levels with an adequate stop for the given timeframe....
Gunn didn't go up the day before the plane. A couple of months, I think. And his system is the most accurate so far. No one's ever made a more accurate one. Even though Gunn lived 100 years ago and didn't have a computer.

Well, I'm not going to argue with you. Especially since I don't remember about the aeroplane... It's been a long time since I read the stories...
But I remember that he needed some very decent amount of money, he went to the stock exchange with a hundred dollars and took it. :-)
P.S. And his system is very accurate. I'm not sure that it is "the most", I know a couple of other things, comparable (for me) in accuracy.... But I personally have oh-so-much respect for Gunn's work, yes.
Well, I'm not going to prove it. Especially since I don't remember exactly about the plane..... It's been a long time since I read the stories...

Can I see a list of similarly accurate systems? I'm not being funny. It's just that in my time I've been digging through a lot of systems, and I've only seen an accurate mathematical calculation and model search algorithm from Gunn. And considering what he hints at in his writings, but does not show in public.... Or rather, I haven't seen anything yet. And the system is already more than 100 years old! Aglog traders with their super powerful computers are just resting!
P.S. - Gunn had a couple of omissions due to the fact that earlier the market was less volatile, and he used only two figures, a square and a triangle. In our time of cosmic speeds, a third figure (pentacle) has entered the market. And on his pattern 144, it is the angles of this figure that very often reverses the trend on some assets. The pound likes these angles and so does brent oil. Gazprom reverses on these angles at high volatility, Sber very rarely, mostly reversal on 1x1 angle.
Can we see a list of similarly accurate systems? ...?
These systems are also mostly graphical.
The principles are of course the same as in your picture, but the accents are slightly shifted, which makes the chart read much easier for me.
Here, in the basic configuration. Although there were other drawings there, a lot of them....
The main thing for me is to understand the principles. I understand them better and better. :-) And the principles are nothing new: model, price, time.... All three are important.
And, yes, it is true for me that the "cleaner" the chart, the better the system. That doesn't mean that complex systems (like the full Gunn chart) don't work. It just means I have a limited attention span, and I have to live with that.

Yay, someone to cross swords with this weekend!!! Not for the sake of argument, purely to pose. ))
I can share free indices for mt4 mt5. Just Nen from Onyx, the author of ZUPa, has recently added an adder for MT5.
P.S. - in Gann's case, the price of the extremum gives the size of the vibration, i.e. the X coordinate is already known in advance, as well as the levels near which a reaction is possible. Then we just wait for the formation of the first swing (wave) and get the values on the Y coordinate. You can build a box from the past movement as well, it always works 100%.
P.S.S. - Gann's pattern is difficult to understand at the very beginning. There are a lot of lines, and some of them will bounce off anyway. But Gunn watched the model in it, i.e. he used the template to catch the end of correction wave B (if he did not manage to get to the beginning of A on the previous reversal), then he drove to the end of C, which ended, depending on the model, strictly in a certain point (zone). If desired, he would turn over there and roll to the end of the new A. According to his system, the turning points are always the same!!!

No swords :-) Just another interpretation of a classic by the Jew.... True, it's not drawn in MT, but I hope I'll be forgiven....

Well, and pound let it be on the main topic :-)

I also like the pound the most.
P.S. - I mainly watch and trade M5, an hour purely for medium-term analysis.

I'll write a little bit at night, why there is still nothing more accurate than Gunn! :)
1 - first of all, the mathematics of the models. The past movement already gives the level of the first reaction, where you can stand with a minimum stop for correction. The error is +-3-4 pips, often it works in pips to pips.
2 - secondly, visualisation of patterns. Even if you did not have time to get into the beginning of the movement, you always catch the very end of the correction with the pattern and get into the third one with a minimum stop. Plus you always see if the pattern is over or not, i.e. if it is a reversal or if it will be a doboy on the trend.
3 - full algorithmisation. I.e. the same clear algorithm of actions for decision making. Mainly for catching the end of correction.
P.S. - The trading technique "Horn of Plenty" strongly chikannya Gunn! ;) Fan (there are angles), but there is no price and time binding. Therefore, it is not clear whether the trend is still in force or is already running out of steam.
SiPi-500 in the Gann fan with price and time cut-offs.
