MT5 and speed in action - page 12

We will figure it out and optimise it.

Thank you for the tests.

Strange. How can trading be fast if there are no limit orders?

And pending server orders are executed in tens of milliseconds, during which time the price moves away.

I do not understand anything.

Thank you. The MT5 seems to be the main reason.

Interesting topic, will keep an eye out.

fxsaber:

This is how depressing the combat situation looks.

If you look closely, you will notice that EAs independent of each other are slowing down in the same way (lag time and duration). That is, when several Expert Advisors make HistorySelect call, then MT5 stops execution of all Expert Advisors for some time, and then returns its results to the Expert Advisors.

What is the reason for such a strange (in comparison with the impending) API for working with history? Where are the pitfalls in this approach?

It must be abnormal for MT4 performance to outperform MT5 when dealing with trading history.

Please remove the brakes from the trading terminal!

The interesting thing is that this delay occurs even in other terminals running on the same account. In other words, several EAs in one of the terminals work with HistorySelect, while the speed of all other EAs deteriorates, irrespective of which terminal they are running on.

It sounds strange, of course.

What if on different computers?

Aleksey Vyazmikin:

And if on different computers?

I am a trader, what I see in my terminals with the naked eye, that is what I sing about. I'm a trader and I can see what I see on my terminals with the naked eye, that's what I see.

Theoretically, of course, I can put some EA from my home laptop and look at its behaviour.
