Vizard:

after what you've been telling us here, nothing's too scary ))))...
The forecast was up - as you can see it has recovered! (i don't like these euro-parliament bugs - they may or may not speak - that's where the daisy is))))).)

M_Dimens:
Apparently the market saw this as a positive development for the euro :)
It's all "poncey"...

margaret:

ECB chief Mario Draghi has cancelled his speech in the European Parliament scheduled for today. As explained by the Central Bank's spokesman, the reason for the cancellation was the "period of silence" that the ECB has to observe during the week before the Governing Council meeting (6 September).

Draghi also cancelled his trip to Jackson Hole last week, citing a "heavy workload".

Draghi will now give his speech after the ECB's monetary policy meeting on September 6.

Hi!

If they don't make up their minds on Thursday, the markets will be disappointed... The preliminary indicators show that the Americans seem to be doing quite well...

3 September. /Dow Jones/. There will be no progress on the debt crisis in the EU periphery until 2013, says BayernLB chief economist Jürgen Pfeiser. The economies of all the troubled countries except Ireland are contracting and unemployment is high, he says. For German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, fiscal consolidation is easy. All he has to do is reach out and wait for the income tax to take effect, he adds. "It is difficult to implement consolidation in a shrinking economy," he says.
