The international rating agency Fitch lowered the rating of the six largest banks, explaining such decision by instability in global financial markets. In particular, Fitch has decided to downgrade American Goldman Sachs and Bank of America, British bank Barclays, French BNP Paribas, German Deutsche Bank and Swiss Credit Suisse. The agency's rating "reflects an entity's ability to service its financial obligations on time".In its statement, Fitch said that US and European banks are "particularly sensitive to the growing challenges faced by financial markets".
