Wise. Politics, especially in our country, is such a dirty business that there is no way to vote for a decent party or decent person.

The sensible choice for the voter is not to allow one faction to completely control the government and parliament.
This requires tactical voting for the closest competitors, no matter how crocodile-like they may be. As soon as the ruling party loses its constitutional, or better still, simple majority, both it and its competitors will immediately be warmly loved by the voter. And most importantly, the stupid enactment of laws that benefit only one party will cease.
With the presidential election, the situation is similar; having lost some of the votes, the former absolute leader will be seriously worried.

This is the best that can be squeezed out of the coming election campaign today. Not much, but at least something.

I agree. It is the threat of removal from the trough or the potential chance of becoming the "king of the mountain" that encourages the apex to switch from plunder to creation.
