Natural seasonal periods
These periods do not start at the beginning of the calendar year, but on 20 March. The year is divided into 8 equal parts and also into thirds, giving two more time periods.
These time periods are as follows:
20 March to 5 May = 1/8 of a year or 46 days
21 June = 1/4 year, or 91 days
23 July = 1/3 of a year, or 121 days
5 August = 3/8 year, or 136 days
22 September = 1/2 year, or 182 days
8 November = 5/8 year or 227 days

All of these periods are important for observing trend changes. The most important are 1/2 and end of season; the next most important are 1/4 and 3/4, 1/3 and 2/3.
