It is a simply volume indicator. Obviously it does not repaint.

the indicator data for the current bar will repaint respecting the fact that the current bar is still moving. No repainting if you ignore the current unclosed bar

That is not called repainting. On ALL indicators, the current bar is always "in progress" (except if using only "open" price).
