But that's not the answer.

The answer.

Whatever the question, that's the answer.

Is there a mathematical way to determine the success of a programmer? WHAT ABOUT EFFICIENCY? Not to be confused with productivity.

Absolutely. The word "success" refers to social standing. I.e. a programmer must earn good money, have accommodation and means of transport, and not have problems with law enforcement agencies. The rest is very simple. We obtain data about wages and assets from the pension fund and tax inspection. The property is recalculated at market prices minus depreciation. And we build a graph. Programmers with the highest figure are the most successful. And then it's downhill from there. It is also possible to divide by the cost of living where you live in order to level out the geographical factor. Although not necessarily. Because the success rate of a person living in the U.S. is higher than that of a person living in Rwanda. All other methodologies are bullshit!

She didn't find anything, her husband just came in and demanded an explanation about the soup.

The hallmark of this forum is relationship-building.

I'm sorry.

I did not know, but the topic is discussed in blogs and forums of programmers to the fullest extent. Often they use this very formulation. So the question was raised correctly. And in a proper place (or there are no programmers left here?). Only the reaction of some local programmers to it was not right, but rather alarming. But programmers?

I wonder if professions such as doctors and teachers are also discussed with the wording "success", or is it more about the ability of these professions to perform their professional duties? Why programmers in particular are discussed under the term "success"?

I'll correct your military analogy: "Assumed ability to successfully complete a combat mission."

Yes, a successful military man has successfully accomplished a combat mission. Dropped the atomic bomb on Heroshima and Nagasaki ...

Daughey is a successful military man (( successfully accomplished a combat mission. Dropped the atomic bomb on Heroshima and Nagasaki ...

Also involved in a world-famous project.

What kind of project? Is it no secret?

So you haven't heard of Heroshima and Nagasaki? But you must have seen the movie Pearl Harbor, right?
