Discussion of high-frequency trading on MT5 - page 6

EvMir:

Everything you say is right, all the components are important. The thing is, I've heard over and over again that HFT is basically the only way to get rich in algorithmic trading, all other ways are super risky and more like a casino. So the question arises, how to get such skills without such a technique and such software? Is there continuity in development from small algotrader working with kitchens to HFT monster that Goldmansax and Jipimorgan can't share?

Or is it a completely different kind of activity, like different typing and OS kernel development like linux... If so, then you should not waste your time and play with kitchens and mass Forex platforms, where you can earn maximum 1-2K$ a month, with big risk to lose your honestly earned 10-20K and to do something else.I`m not going to earn on Forex market as a usual programmer with 3-5K month salary ceiling. Since there is such a risk, there should be no ceiling and the kitchen will not let me do it, so working with DC is a transitional stage, and if it is senseless, I have to think in another direction.

You need to understand the goals and the risks.

And the regulated brokers are not DCs or also in your opinion

server:
Are regulated brokers not a DC or in your opinion too?
My opinion is not so formed yet, I'm just trying to understand. You have to try all the brokers at all types of exchanges, you won't get enough time or motivation, so I have to try and filter out and analyze a huge amount of contradictory and propagandistic information, choose a way and act, and then while getting new information change the vector of movement. At this stage, I just want the initial impetus to be at least approximately in the right direction, otherwise it is not a good idea to retrain later.

EvMir:
My eyes are still fragile, I'm just trying to figure it out. You must agree that you cannot try all brokers at all types of exchanges, there is not enough time or motivation, so one should try to filter and analyse a huge mass of contradictory and propagandistic information, choose a path and act, and then change the vector of movement as new information is obtained. At this stage I only wish that the initial impulse was at least approximately in the right direction, because it is not very pleasant to retrain later.
Soon everything will be filtered out, the bill is already on the table at the government, they even want to deal with advertising on the subject everything will be regulated.

So it is not a question of being protected by the state, by the way I am not sure that regulation can fundamentally change anything, the kitchens will either "legalize" to make it more profitable for them to register in the country, but only if the state does not screw up their activities, that is encourage scams, or everything remains as it is and a meaningless law will be introduced and everything will happen in the shadows as it happens. There is no difference for a small trader.

They will be able to sue them, why they do not call regulated brokers "kitchens"? All so-called kitchens will die out or we will have to be friends with traders, we will check quotes, payouts, spreads, etc.

papaklass:
I wonder how you are going to check the quotes? With what will you compare them?
As soon as the law is adopted, there will be something to compare it with and how to check it.

They do not have different tricks, and all the so-called "kitchens" will die out or we will have to be friends with them.

Apparently I didn't get the main point across)))

If a law(s) favourable to the cojones is introduced, they will brew officially.

An unprofitable law, they will stay in the shadows.

Will e-money and offshore be banned worldwide?

What does this have to do with quotes, payouts... The law of the jungle: Who has time to eat? I do not care, I do not pay me a couple of grand from some canteen with an initial deposit of $ 100, what do you think I will be angry? Wrong! I'm gonna be happy. But only if that class of trading strategies that brought me profit can be scaled to millions. If this kind of strategies works with $30k deposit ceiling and allows me to withdraw maximum couple thousands per month, then excuse me, I will earn more on printing and web-design with no risk.

In this context I'm investing in education, talking about playing with small deposits up to 100k$. The question is whether such experience is a necessary step on the way to adult algotrading, such as elementary mathematics basics of mathematical analysis, etc. I wrote above...

EvMir: ... Если так, то вообще не стоит тратить время и играться с кухнями, и массовыми форекс платформами, где максимум что можно заработать это 1-2К$ в месяц, с большим риском просадить честно заработанных 10-20К...

Not long ago, when there were only in-house dealing kitchens in the forex market, I would not have got into it, as I prefer active intraday trading. With the advent of STP technology, ECN systems and ECN accounts - "normal" brokers started to appear, who live off commission on turnover and not by playing their dealing against clients. The adequate spreads, fast execution without requotes, without idiotic time of transaction and MTP restrictions, even some glass (now at least the liquidity is visible and we can evaluate the probable slippage), quotes without wild stops removal (and identical both on demo and on real) appeared on such accounts. For me, as I used to trade on futures market at exchange market, it is unclear how one could rely on something at Forex market before and the kitchen is totally irresponsible to clients.

Now we may earn much more than 1-2K a month (moreover there are services on spread/commission refund). At the same time thanks to the appearance of adequate brokers who publish their business model, partly because of the segregated accounts, you can come and work on forex with much more confidence.

Of course, for me the issue of formation (formation???) of quotes for currency pairs is not completely solved yet...

vav990:

Now you can make a lot more than 1-2K a month here (especially since there are services for refunding part of the spread/commission).

In my view, all the mass introductions, such as protection, guarantees, spread refunds, etc., are just another lure for the sucker. The only thing that makes sense is to use islands of market inefficiencies that have somehow not been noticed by a large number of very smart people or have just appeared for a while in the matamorphosis of market regularities and have not yet been noticed by the majority and have not yet been covered by brokers or compensated. All convenience for the majority is bullshit! It is good that most people believe that the state or someone else will take care of them)))) Such people are meat for predators, not even meat but plankton who are eaten by those who are eaten by predators.

That's why brokers are shamed in America, they can allow someone to earn ONLY as an advertising character for their propaganda, and that within the cost of a flat in the province at most, we are not talking about any potential wealth.

And the main question is, is there any educational value in such interaction with VCs via mass terminals? Are the algorithmic patterns of scalping on MT5 applicable to adult HFT then? What is the area of overlap between the logic of those and other classes of algorithms. The answer to that question will decide whether it's worth pursuing. Or find a way to become a water-carrier with guys who make HFT for funds and humiliation and groveling to get what you want.... Sort of like Galkin and Alla Borisovna....
