yes, backdating is what demo is for. demo however can't run in live or demo account for forward testing

Are you sure Demo version is not for testing on demo account with some limitations? Are you sure all Demo versions at market are just for backtesting?

The problem was: The EA was trading several currencies which MT4 engine does not do backtest multi-currencies.

Is it possible to backtest a Demo version EA of MQL Market?
There is a 1 year result provided by the seller but 1 year is not enough for me. I need to backtest at least 4 years on real tick data before using.
Your advice is appreciated!
