mt5 live update

2021.07.30 08:51:33.065    LiveUpdate    download 'MT5CLW64' failed

why live update fails?

What is MT5CLW64?

It can be for many reasons.
For example, you are having Windows 32 bit (this Windows is not supported by MT5 anymore), or you downloaded MT5 from the broker's website instead, or for any other reason.

You can install fresh MT5 (use the link at the bottom of this page) and install MT5 on your Windows 10 64 bit, after that - connect your MT5 to MetaQuotes-Demo server and update.

'mt5clw64' is an update that is downloaded from the 'LiveUpdate' service.

Example:

2021.07.30 12:45:07.702 LiveUpdate      'mt5clw64' downloaded (29297 kb)
2021.07.30 12:45:14.419 LiveUpdate      'mt5clwide64' downloaded (23166 kb)
2021.07.30 12:45:17.089 LiveUpdate      'mt5clwtst64' downloaded (10339 kb)
2021.07.30 12:45:17.589 LiveUpdate      downloaded successfully
and the error may be either due to a 32-bit operating system (as Sergey Golubev said above), there may be Internet connection problems ...

Windows server 2012 R2 I suspect is 64-bit. I haven't figured out what the problem is. As for now I just copied newer terminal.exe file, much hassle to reinstall everything on 2 terminals I'm running,  before I had 2950 (some beta) now 2981 , seems everything working, I hope  this fix will work

This is the procedure about how to know: MT5 is on 32 bit (which is not supported anymore) or on 64 bit:

If you have a question, first of all you should show the first three lines from the 'Journal' tab

(select these lines, copy to the clipboard and paste into the message using the button Code). It should look like this:

If you see something as "Metatrader 5 x64" so your Metatrader is on 64 bit.

You seem to be using a 3rd party VPS. Please be aware that many VPS providers block certain Internet protocols, ports and addresses. That may be the reason for the failure to download the update.

Off-topic but very important! You should not be actively using the Administrator account on a VPS. Doing that is a very high security risk. You should configure a separate account for general usage and only use the Administrator account for critical access.
