Why do signal providers often deposit and withdraw amounts of money that are big relative to the account size. Is it for manipulating drawdown results or profit results?

Yes, they usually deposit when their account is in deep drawdown and after the 'calmness' is restored they withdraw this amount.
Deposits in a signal with open positions is catastrophic of course for signal subscribers, since it changes the copying ratio, resulting in partial closure of their loosing (copied) positions.
