what is the difference between two type of virtual servers?

Basicly, VPS CAN BE OVERSOLD which can lead to poor performance if provider is greedy. VDS CAN NOT BE OVERSOLD and you always get the “dedicated” resources you paid for.

which would be more efficient for mt4 or mt5?

Depends on your needs, especially how resource intense your EA is and how many MT instances you like to run on this server.

I use several VPS with 4 cores and 4 GB RAM which is enough to run 4 MT4 instances and dozens of EA instances.

A VDS is necessary if you like to work with the server like with your local desktop.


Last but not least it depends on your VPS provider and how many VPS instances they run on one real server.

You mean you dont upgrade your ea's or cant change experts parameters on VPS?

You misunderstood my statement. I can do everything I want but the VPS is used to strictly run the EA's.

As a summary;

- VPS is sufficient for EA's.

- At least 2 cores are needed.

- At least 4 GB ram needed.

-The server quality is important.
