What is the role of 'shift' in the functioning of Moving Average?

I already picked it up and configuring changes such as an implementation of generic close system based on negative/positive change on the derivative of MA1-MA2.

Help says

ma_shift - MA shift. Indicators line offset relate to the chart by timeframe.

So if you adjust shift=3, the MA is drawn 3 points to the right.

 

Awesome EA so far, gonna continue testing it.
