As you know, the MetaQuotes concept makes only sense with good historical data.

The system is focused on expert which can be evaluated when it is not possible

to backtest them.

I have bad data from my broker, i called the support for this and thy answered:

"Please note the historical data is provided by metaquotes not from IC Markets

so we do not have control over it"

Is that true ? If yes, how can i get good historical data ?

Thank you

Wrong Historical Data

chinaski, 2018.05.24 13:15

Hello,

i want to make a backtest but can't because there are faulty data for EURUSD.

GL      0       13:01:55.517    Core 1  2014.01.07 09:00:00   deal #1814 sell 0.05 EURUSD at 1.36183 done (based on order #1814)
KQ      0       13:01:55.517    Core 1  2014.01.07 09:00:00   deal performed [#1814 sell 0.05 EURUSD at 1.36183]
GP      0       13:01:55.517    Core 1  2014.01.07 09:00:00   order performed sell 0.05 at 1.36183 [#1814 sell 0.05 EURUSD at 1.36183]
DF      3       13:01:55.517    Core 1  2014.01.07 10:00:00   position stop out triggered at -537.58% [#1814 sell 0.05 EURUSD 1.36183]
GG      0       13:01:55.517    Core 1  2014.01.07 10:00:00   deal #1815 buy 0.05 EURUSD at 3.36273 done (based on order #1815)
RI      0       13:01:55.517    Core 1  2014.01.07 10:00:00   deal performed [#1815 buy 0.05 EURUSD at 3.36273]
JO      0       13:01:55.517    Core 1  2014.01.07 10:00:00   order performed buy 0.05 at 3.36273 [#1815 buy 0.05 EURUSD at 3.36273]

Please mind the bold price of 3.36273. This price is not real. Also the timestamp shows that bars are neighbours and in the chart you can see that all bars are neighbours and do not have that faulty price.

The question is: From where this price ?

I have deleted history. On next backtestrun, MT downloads history but still have the same problem.

How to get correct data ? Thank you.

As far as I know - the data is related to the broker (broker only).

As to the situation with "where the brokers are getting this data from" - it is related to the brokers as well (they are geting it from the data providers etc).

But anyway, Those are the broker who are responsible for the data/quotes.
Brokers only.

Selecting good broker is very personal process. There many criterias for selection, so the people are selecting the broker based on the following:

  • location;
  • regulation;
  • symbols (crypto for example; etc);
  • good data.
You can select the other broker which is having more good data for example ...

This is in contradiction to what my brokers tells me: MetaQuotes provides historical data.

Yes, it is in contradition.
Because as far as I know - MetaQuotes are not providing the data for brokers.

If you want to clarify it - ask MetaQuotes on the service desk (the link to the service desk is on your profile).
