Discussion of article "How to reduce trader's risks" - page 2

Ivashka222:

thanks for the article.

Good luck in the financial markets and Happy New Year!

Vladimir Karputov:

So, are there anyone willing to rewrite the EA code from the article into MQL5 language and upload it to KodoBase?

The code is rewritten in MQL5 and is available in KodoBase: Reduce_risks

I almost fell off my chair, but I could damage my precious head after reading such theses: " MACD-based expert does not have time to react to a sharp price collapse of USDCHF" !!!!! Well, brother, you're crazy. I propose to add to the classification of risks: - friendship with "grief programmers". Why don't you have such a section?

Such a section is better suited for your service, and to avoid falling off your chair - study indicators - MACD is an example of a standard indicator, and nothing more. And before ineptly sneering, you'd better present your developments to the world - you don't see them.

I tried the code snippet for "reducing risk related to high volatility at the moment of a market entry" in my own EA, and noticed that zero trades were being taken. Only then I remembered that my expert advisor was a break-out strategy, so this could never be a good match. In any case this article is full of innovative ideas and proves the author has a lot of hands-on trading experience. It made it to my all-time top ten list of Metatrader articles.

Good ideas, but the EA cannot work because these condition will almost never be true at the same time :

     //Simulate the case when local resistance levels are broken by the current price:
       Bid > High[1] &&           //on М1 (smaller scale)
       Bid > H_prev_m15 &&        //on М15 (larger scale)

Alexander, thanks for the article !

How applicable/adaptable is your EA to FORTS?

I have run the MQL5-version of the EA on the RTS index in testing/optimisation mode.

By changing MA periods and different coefficients it can be adapted to the derivatives market, but the results (for me) are not very good.

Is it correct that the Expert Advisor is initially "designed" only for the hedging system?

Very good article. It's very useful for the development of my EAs.

Congratulations to the author.

1. A scientific approach is when a hypothesis is put forward and it is attempted to be destroyed. If it withstands the attack, it becomes an axiom. You put forward a hypothesis, I am trying to destroy it. What's wrong? What's not scientific?

2. What are my developments? Everything has been invented a long time ago: amplitude-phase demodulation.
