HFT - how does it work and is there a way to participate?

hello community

can anybody explain me, how this HFT works?

what kind of "codes" do they use?

is there a way to participate as a common trader?

Maybe the best (for start) is that you watch the video at this post : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/181281/page6 and the one at this post : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/181281/page6

After that you might find quite a few books about it in this thread : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/180671

The cost of the hardware alone involved in HFT makes it out of reach of individuals. And then the net speed comes in (it can not be done on a regular internet connection - any commonly available internet connection). And then the software

You are right - the video is actually quite informative : even a 500 m of distance difference from a broker is used in HFT to get an edge and to beat the competition (that is the range of speeds they are calculating with)

well - not counting the Costs and Speed of installing an HTF - I just see, that this HTFs are using "Fibos" to go long or short

Volume Peaks are changing the Game - Strong Holders are giving their Position to weak Holders - we

As a retail trader you'll never be able to gain direct access liquidity to enable full HFT strategies.

I am afraid that you are on a wrong trail

Take some time and read the books about HFT too (from the forex books thread) and that might help understanding what the core of HFT trading is

was nt there an experiment where monkeys had better results than informed investors

Copied and pasted from somewhere

It started innocuously in 2005 when the SEC pushed through Reg. NMS. It allowed the first trading robots to wage war against each other... and on the market.

Today robots account for 75% of all trades... and through handshake deals and money paid... they are now plugged directly into the heart of the exchanges.

They execute trades in milliseconds. Yours are 22 seconds behind them.

They get their data in milliseconds. Your charts are updated a minute (or more) behind them""

perhaps we can have a whip round and pay for a server location abit nearer the exchanges

mladen, thank you very much for your patience with me - also thanks for your exceptional link sharing, where I

found this PDF about HTF, while digging around

Take your time and it will come

It is always good to know what are they preparing but I doubt that we (mere mortals) will be able to enter that same HFT ship any time soon. At least we will know what are the "driving forces"
