Mp6140's Hedge - page 10

pete7:
didn'm mp6140 say that he uses this strategy for several years with the same hedge times ?

Yes pete7, I recall the same. But I believe that was the original 1am GMT single hedge.

The current seven hedges (incidentally now without the 1am GMT time?? Wonder why mp6140 removed it....) is a little bit making me nervous. But I guess if one prepares enough room for the market to swing, then things will eventually rebound back.

For the faint-hearted, set your Risk as low as you can afford.

Thanks for the answer. In the lastest version of his document, fxshadow included the 1am GMT hedge. And being honest, for the last few days those hedges where ok and produced some pips for me. Can you direct me to the mp6140's post in which he says he doesn't use this time to hedge anymore ?

The times listed on fxshadow notes are not the hedge times, but are the reversal times. mp6140 said to enter 45 minutes to 1 hour before the reversal times, which makes me believe that the 1am hedge now becomes either the 12.15am hedge or 12.00am hedge instead.

These times are making me confuse already. Are we entering the correct time here? Do we enter at the reversal time, -45 mins or at -1 hour?

pete7, referring to fxshadow times (highlighed in red) there are four columns. The first column is EST, second GMT, third -45 and fourth -1 hour. Which column did you use to enter your hedges?

it's up to you I think to choose the time that suits you. Personally I hedge between 00 and 15 just to give some time for the price. The biggest factor is luck and probability so i doesn't matter, in my opinion, if you enter at 07, 09 or 15 (or 37 39 45 if the hedge time is xx30).

My time is GMT +1 so I use the column of GMT to enter the trades.

Hi guys!

Thanks a lot again to mp6140 again for his strategy and azmel for his coding.

Azmel have you optimized the thing, why the EA doesn't place sometime trades?

And second, azmel. I found a nice EA - "subroutine" :-) - (MTP 1.7) which is very usefull in combination with this EA. (in my opinion).

(I'm not good in coding MQL4 this is why I as u. Anyway I'm going to learn it and also try it on my one.)

So we have the possibilty to gain TP and also to use SL like 700 (or 0 :-) or something like that) I've tested to set TP to 30 on GPBUSD and this works either, so why not to "optimize" it?

For backtesting it would be important to combine these two EAs. For real trading u could run each EA on one chart.

What do you think about this?

Bye, Alex

I've been working on this hedge and trying to introduce some new factors but it's driving me crazy as it's just not working. The plan is to close half the lots at the TP point (be it 5 pips or 10 pips) and let the rest ride with a trailing stop. It works great in backtest but just wont work properly forward testing.

Azmel or anyone else, can you help me out with this please?

Thanks

Bob

Man, you guys are comtemplating a 1000 pip stoploss (margin call) to try to pick up 10 pips on one side of the hedge? Seriously.
