windows will restart your machine without your permission after an update and there was an update last night or this morning i believe.
if you think this is the case
with administrator status you can do this in the Group Policy Editor. Click on Start, Run and type in Gpedit.msc. Go to Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Update in the tree in the left pane, then double-click on the ‘No auto-restart for scheduled Automatic Updates installations’ item in the right pane. Set this to ‘Enabled’, OK and close the Group Policy Editor.
Gpedit.msc (Computer Configuration-Administrative Templates-Windows Components-Windows Update)
