it's good to make an indicator to read the csv file and plot the news on chart even for past, newsreader alerts the future news only.
I think it's very useful for backtesting.

If you are working on the news related tools, you may want to check out this Derk Wehler's 'package' (see attached zip) - there is a lot in it, more that I can understand. He said, that this should help many EA to start trading more profitable, since you can using his tools, avoid trading during news time - among other things. I hope that his generosity can be of any help to you.
I've also added his two MSGs with explanation, this should help.
