Hi guys,

I took a look to John Murphy's book.

and i noticed those indicators:

Demand Index (DI_

&

Herrick Payoff Index (HPI)

So iff anybody got a mq4, please post it here

The main problem is we only get tick volume.

Does anyone know if somebody did a MT4 Herrick Payoff Index ?

A list of Herrick Payoff Index parameters (simpler to explain):

  1. High- The high price of the security for each given day.
  2. Low- The low price of the security for each given day.
  3. Volume- The number of shares of the security that were traded during each given day.
  4. Open Interest - The number of open contracts for each given day
  5. Multiplying Factor - A smoothing factor similar to the period of an exponential moving average. A period of 3 includes roughly the current value and the two previous values.
  6. Value of One Cent Move - The value associated with the movement of the price. A value of 100 is typically used for all commodities except silver, which should be 50.

You will notice that points 3 (the famous volume issue on forex market that can not be known) and 4 are preventing us from making this indicator.

Something might be "combined out" from COT data, but the pace of COT data (once a week) and its lag (published on Friday including data till Tuesday) would make it rather difficult to use at the least
