Historical Data

Hello, I'm new here so please forgive me if I'm doing something that I'm not supose to do. I'm very very new at this world, but I'm begining to be completly addict

So one of the thing that amaze me is the backtesting of strategies, and I was very low on historical data (alpari is not enought I think) I begin my reacherch and I found this on a P2P network:

152MB Zip file with Historical Forex Data in 1 minute and 15 minute resolution.

Data for 2001-2005 inclusive (major pairs 1999-2005 15 minutes)

All major pairs.

CSV Text file format.

Download at this url: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CSYAD61J

You will need to wait for 45 seconds and then click on the button:

Please wait 35 seconds..

Please wait 10 seconds..

Can someone please tell me if this is possible~,

Thanks,

Yes,

You can import CSV files to your Historical Data in MT4.

Click Tools/Historical Center/the currency, the time frame, then import...

And thanks for the link. I will try using that data to improve my backtests also.

how do I get these files into the folders they are .hst files and that doesn't seem to be the right format.

Yeah..Im having the same problem. I used UltraEdit to put them in the right format and saved as a txt file. But when I try to Import them to MT4 they just wont load.

They do load to the first window...and I can see them there..in the correct format..but when I then press OK...they dont make the final step to the Hist Charts.

I wish there was some way to convert them to hst files.

Anyone know if there is a utility out there to do that job?
