ANy limit to number of trades an EA can do?

Hi guys

This is an excellent forum with lots of info for all those interested in trading.

I have a small doubt that needs to be clarified:

Is there a limit to the number of trades an EA can place, as long as the margin is available? Say I have $xxxxx as account balance, can I set up an EA that makes hundreds of microlot (0.01 lot) trades, as long as I have the free margin to continue placing trades?? Is this accepted by the brokers? or say, tens of minilot ( 0.1 lot) trades, with the same conditions being fulfilled ( enough free margin)?

Once again.. thanks to all of you for a very informative forum.

There's no real limit to what an EA can do, it's more a matter of what the broker will allow. If you continually place thousands of tiny orders per day, I would bet that most brokers would at LEAST call to find out what you're doing, and at worst would close your account with no warning for flooding their servers with traffic.

This is a question best asked of your specific broker.

O.K.

Thanks for that bit of info, Scott

I will contact my broker before I trade for real.

Any other inputs?
