It is indicator.
Place it in /indicators folder and compile using MetaEditor, or re-start Metatrader.

I placed the downloaded woodiescci.mq4 on
C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 4\experts\indicators\
Started the metatrader platform.
Had that file compiled.
But it produced 144 errors.
Editing that file it seems that it is a html file???

Well, I used the built in Editor in the Metatrader4 platform.
The icon at the left of Expert Advisor.
The editor shows as the first line:
The files tab shows : woodiescci.mq4!
Any suggestions?

I must be!
I only know that I must have the .mq4 file, use the built in editor to compile it in order to get the .exe file, then it will work.
But what else should I try to do it right?

edit: To test the editor, I downloaded the Ergodic.mq4 file from
https://www.mql5.com/en/forum
and the editor shows it in .mq4 format instead of html format!
It is WoodiesCCI. Not super of course but still Woodies.

I have downloaded the file, saved it to local disk and opened it; it is now showing as a window with all the codes in MetaEditor. I compiled it, no errors shown, but still I do not get it in the list of indicators or custom indicators.
I suppose I am missing part of a procedure, and I have this problem with other indicators as well, they are all sitting as windows in the MetaEditor but no luck with attaching them to the charts of MT4.
Please advise me what to do, thanks a lot.

I downloaded the file saved it to local disc, opened it and now it is sitting as a window with the codes in the MetaEditor; I compiled it no errors received but still I cannot get it in the charts of MT4 or in the list of indicators or custom indicators; maybe I am missing some action, please tell me what to do.

I am not the local guru. but I will tell you my thoughts
tyhe files must be saved to the indicators file in metatrader directory whic is a subfile of experts...
then they have to be compiled.
then re start metatrader and they should all appear under 'custom indicators'
