MQL4 vs MQL5

Hi;

Why is it, when logged onto MQL4 & I click on anything like Market, Freelance etc, it automatically switches to MQL5?

I do have an account on both, although am trading with MT4 so want stuff for MT4 (until I switch over or trade on both).

Because MT4/MQL4 is being slowly phased out, with everything being pushed towards MT5/MQL5 becoming then next standard.

Even though the MQL4 sites still exists, there is plenty of MT4/MQL4 stuff that currently only exists on the MQL5 website.

 
So dumb question, if I get a MQL5 EA will it work on MT4?

No! The two systems are different, even though they have some commonalities!

There are many EAs etc for MT4 in the mql5 website. Just make sure that you get one for MT4
