Partial close order comment
When closing an order partially, it seems (I'm not exactly sure whether this is what happens exactly) that the order gets closed and a different order gets opened with the remaining quantity. However, the comment of the "remaining" order changes to something like: "From #51461". Is there any way to preserve the original order comment?
Yes, when partially closing an order, a extra one is in fact generated because obviously both the closed part and the open part can't both continue to have the same ticket number.
No, the comment cannot be preserved nor changed, as that is under broker control. In fact, some brokers don't even allow the initial comment to be set (or have a size limit), so don't rely on it at all. It is basically just an extra field of dummy text.
