Have you checked your RAM usage while this is occuring ?
RAM usage is pretty normal in this issue.
It's like there are some infinite loop (or very many times loop) happen after input/delete character(s) in the MetaEdtior.
I think it's better to look up code at the check functions that do checking after input/delete and do loop which would have chance to repeat many times.
Then the check function that produce FALSE value may be our evil.
I think the dev team would pay attention on the forum as well, and I think it will need some more users to give proof, this kind of bug may not be easy to find to fix.
Especially if you do not bring it to the dev team. They have other things to do that read the forum.

I reported this back in March to the service desk for MQL5 and i never got a response. And yes, I'm using an i7 920. Copy and pasting even large amount of text seems faster then typing even a few characters sometimes.
