Trading closes on Friday night and reopens on Sunday night . . . . isn't it simple ? unless your Broker's server time is using a different TimeZone then the markets may not open until Monday morning. This is why H4 and D1 are bad timeframes to use . . . there are variants depending on timezone. M1, M5, M15, M30, H1 are the same regardless of timezone
Exactly 5 or 6 D1 bars for every trading week ? Is it different from this broker to that broker ?
Bars open time & close time are always the same between brokers or different ?
Anyone knows that a week has 5 working days, but I see 6 D1 bars per week both on the chart and in history center.
These 6 days correspond to Sunday ... Friday (without Sat). I wonder if the Sunday bar is based on how many hours of trading, because trading time on Sundays is not enough 24 hours.
Market closes Friday 4PM ET (NY local time) 2000z or 2100z.
And opens Sunday 6PM ET 2200z or 2300z
Broker's server time | Market opens | Market closes | D1 bars per week |
---|---|---|---|
UTC+2 | Mon midnight/1AM (12/11 hour day) | Friday | 5 |
UTC+0 | Sunday 10/11pm (2/1 hour day) | Friday 8pm (8 hr day) | 6 |
UTC-8 (Singapore) | Mon 8 AM | Saturday 4AM | 6 |
