No idea about iPhone (i do not know sorry) but as far as I know - Metatrader should be opened and connected all the time.

mt4 IPhone app can't be used. Your desktop MT4 must be running.

If I subscribe to a signal, do I have to keep my mt4 platform connected to internet? If my wifi often has problem, can I just stay connected via iphone mt4 app? (like using 3g and let in run in the background)
