look at forexfactory for the "pattern matching" thread. There is some code (including source code for a native dll written in pascal for performance reasons) that can find a certain class of patterns whose shape can be expressed mathematically as a function of time. All you have to do is define the shape of the pattern as a function t -> price(t), write down this function in pascal, compile the dll and run the EA.

I do not actively maintain this anymore (at the moment), so don't ask me to implement this and that but it is fully working and you can use it as a starting point or a source of inspiration for your own pattern scanner.
