never never trust control points! thats first rule. you can re-code same EA on other software with different data source; you will get different results trust me. I personally would at least do forward testing on demo account several weeks to see if that EA does similar results as on backtest;
look if average winners and loosers are same like on backtesting
look if average trading duration is similar
look if entry and exit bars are similar to backtest
but unfurtonetly such forward testing of several weeks may also be very too short for larger timeframes. I would recommend to forward test several weeks in timeframes <2hour. Even forward testing you cannot trust but its much more trustable then backtesting

Hi, Some EAs perform spectacularly well when backtested using controlpoints mode, but quickly empty the account when tested in every tick mode.
I read the help file about the modes but didn't get any smarter... Would it be possible to apply some sort of filter or similar in the start function so as to simulate
that other testmode ?
