getting strategy runner to work

i've just started with metatrader and have a dozen or so freebie EAs, but so far have only gotten one of them to work. The others give me blank graphs and reports. The report will indicate something like 35,345 bars tested, 335 mismatched chart errors, and 0 trades. The date range is about 2 years.

I'm using "every tic" for the setting, and have the "expert advisor" button engaged (on menu bar). I'm testing on EURUSD, 1 hour, or 1 day... time frame doesn't seem to matter.

I've deleted the histories of all the pairs, and downloaded new histories.

The journal indicates lots of "order send" errors.

any advice?
