MT5 tick data for testing

Hello,

My broker is Alpari said that keeps tick data for less than a year, so I am looking for a reliable tick data to run my strategy tester with a 99% accurate results.


anybody can point me in the right direction to get this TICK  DATA /

Does the MT5 Strategy tester use tick data ?

The thing is that I got a mt5 EA and want to test is to see how it does during the last 15 years o so. The EA will place trades on certain levels (every 50 to 200 pips) so it is not a fast EA that opens trades every 5 pips. I don't know how this affects if mt5 has not tick data.


So, what will be the best way to get a reliable backtest ? should I try with mt4?

Where will you get tick data for the last 15 years from ?  and to use tick data with MT4 you need a 3rd party application.
 

I have not idea if this is possible. For that reason I am asking around. This is the first time that I get into mt5, so everything is new to me.
 
See here, but it's for MT4 and certainly not 15 years back. Anyway, maybe that help you.

Can I get DAta MT5, 1 minute OHLC at least? If I have to do everything in mt4 I need to change the EA too.

Not very good. So doing back test on strategy tester is completely useless.  What's the point if you can not rely on it?


I need to test this EA somewhere, someway .  Any ideas?

Sorry, you can use real tick data in MT5.

Perhaps some commercial trade platform or trading simulator will help - you may want to do specific-Google-search like forex trading simulator or something. The problem is, these trade/simulator platforms may use different language, so you may have to re-write your code for that trade/simulator platforms.
