What does it take to be profitable in automated trading?

It takes a few things, but surely one of the most important ones is diversification.

Running a well-diversified portfolio of different strategies is, in my experience, the best way to achieve smooth performance. The big advantage is that if one of the EAs isn't performing well, it won't significantly hurt the account. This means you'll have much less stress about how the EAs are doing individually.

I have been running portfolio accounts for many years now. One example is my funded account on Darwinex (see picture).
