I have two iterations of MT4 on my computer. One is for live trading and the other is for development work. How do I change the target version of MT4 as it will only load onto my live application. I have tried to find the file in explorer but it seems to be hidden.

Hi Ross,

You can install NNFX Algo Tester Lite directly from MT4 via the Market tab. To open the Market tab, open Terminal (CTRL+T) and then click on Market. Then use the search bar to find the "NNFX Algo Tester". Click on “Download”. And after the download has finished the NNFX Algo Tester will appear in Navigator (CTRL+N) in the Market folder.

NNFX Algo Tester is only available for MT4 and I have no plans to create a version for MT5 in the near future, since MT4 has many more indicators available.

First of all, Thank you for the effort you put in creating something to helpful! Secondly, I use MT4 on a Mac using WINE, just as in ATR someone had a problem with download, I'm facing the same issue. However I click download, nothing happens, do you have another source for download? Thanks.!

Unfortunately it is not possible to install NNFX Algo Tester on macOS. MT4 is an application developed only for the Microsoft Windows systems, installations on Mac OS and Linux systems are experimental and not fully supported. According to MetaTrader 4 Help, the installation in Mac has makes the Market service unavailable and NNFX Algo Tester is dependent on the MQL5 Market service to be installed and receive updates.

That said, the best solution is to use Boot Camp (https://support.apple.com/boot-camp). Another solution is to use software like VirtualBox (https://www.virtualbox.org/) or Parallels (https://www.parallels.com/eu/). Both solutions allow you to have MT4 fully operational.

as far as I understand, the Lite version has no limit on the number of trade entries (while the demo version of the paid version has a limit of 10). If my understanding is correct, can you help me understand what I am doing wrong? I am trying to test the ASH indicator, from 2015 to 2019. To do so, I am using the following inputs.

0,INPUT_1,1,4,0,3,3

In INPUT_1, I put the following:

Value: 0.0

Start: 5.0

Step: 5.0

Stop: 50.0

The idea is to test periods 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50.

But my optimization report only shows 20 trades from the very first input. I am using the Lite version just because I want to get familiar with the software before buying it

You're right, the Lite version has no limitation on the number of orders.

so if I buy the EA and activate it, can I also deactivate it, if I switch systems? Is it activated to my MT4 account with my broker or to the installation of MT4 on my computer?

Basicall my question is: Can I reset my activations the way it's possible with Soft4FX or are they simply gone once used?
