Q: How to set the correct DST and GMT settings in the properties? ‼️This is only relevant for backtests ‼️ On live charts, SIEA determines that automatically.

A: When the market is open, SI Connect can automatically determine your terminal's current active GMT shift. You'll find the information in the SI Connect status.



Regarding the DST change date, you have to ask your broker's support team. Most brokers use the American Zone, which is set by default, but please ask them to be sure.

‼️IMPORTANT‼️
If it's summer and the DST is active, the displayed value includes the DST shift. So the pure GMT shift (which is always active throughout the entire year) is the printed value -1. In this example, the result would be 0.

So in my backtest settings, I need to set GMT shift = 0

Additional information to the SIEA Pro NG SL management. 

SIEA Pro NG uses two different stop loss techniques, 
1. a visible one set at the broker and 
2. an invisible one managed inside the EA
 
Why do we use two different ones? 
Because we noticed that, especially during the nighttimes, after NY ends and before the Asian session starts, there are sometimes crazy wide spreads. 
And these spreads cause unnecessary trade exits, while a few minutes later everything is perfectly fine and the order would have survived easily.

So to avoid that, we use a wide stop loss sent to the broker, but internally SIEA Pro NG uses its ADR-based SL with the correct risk in percent.

I was recently asked how our new SIEA Pro NG performed in 2023 so far. 

So I made a backtest with the default settings for this year, and that's the result. 

I think those numbers are pretty impressive, but please have a look yourself.

Q: MT4 or MT5. Which SIEA Pro NG and terminal version do you recommend?

A: MT5 is clearly the better trading platform and 100% future-proof compared to MT4, which Metaquotes will stop completely in due time.

You might be more used to MT4, but from an ROI point of view, you make the better deal by buying the MT5 version straight away instead of buying an MT4 version that might come to its end of life in 2–3 years when Metaquotes stops MT4 completely.

From a trading perspective, the SIEA MT4 and MT5 versions are 100% identical. 
So, in the end, it's a personal decision which platform you prefer.

Q: What minimum account size you recommend? 

A: In principle, you can use any account size you want. 

We recommend starting with at least 2500 USD to benefit from our perfectly balanced risk and money management.  
Below this amount, i.e. on a 1000 USD account, this works limited due to rounding limits in the lot size calculation. 

Example 1: 
On a 10K account, you can open a trade with 0.05 lots but 
on a 1K account, you can’t open a trade of 0.005 because 0.01 is the smallest possible lot size. 

Example 2: 
On a 10K account, you can open a trade with 0.16 lots but 
on a 1K account, you can’t open a trade of 0.016 because of the lot step of 0.01 –> you have to round up to 0.02 


We also recommend using the Strategy Tester optimization to see which DD Limit value provides the best risk:reward ratio for your account size.

Q: What minimum leverage do you recommend?

A:  You can start with every leverage >= 1:30. The leverage only affects how much money is blocked by margin requirements.

So with higher leverage, you can raise the risk per trade, which results in more risk and higher drawdowns, but also more profits.

If you prefer a calm and relaxed SIEA Pro trading experience, we recommend to stick with the default settings.

Q: My trading symbols have a suffix like EURUSD+. Can SIEA handle that?

A: Yes, of course. Run your SIEA on one of these symbols, like EURUSD+ and it will detect and use the suffix automatically. 
    Please do NOT add suffixes manually in the properties. Just keep the symbol names as they are. 
    The suffix will be detected and used automatically.

Dear SIEA Pro NG users, you may have noticed that there have been no new trigger signals during the past two weeks. 

We are monitoring it live and double-checked by running a backtest, and there has been no trigger signal either. So all is working perfectly as it should. If the "Last activity" time in the panel is recent, that means all is running normally.

We can't predict when the next trigger signal will appear, but we surely won't force it just for the action or due to entertainment purposes.

SIEA Pro NG stands for an outstanding stable performance, and staying on the sideline is part of the game if the conditions are not suitable for new trades.
