Designing a Rule-Based EA from a Discretionary Strategy

Project Objective
The primary goal is to develop an Expert Advisor (EA) based on a straightforward yet effective trading strategy. This approach has demonstrated consistent profitability across a range of traders, varying in experience, trading style, and outcomes — all of whom achieved success using its core principles.

Strategy Overview
The concept originates from a discretionary trading style but has been methodically refined into a mechanical system. While this may seem contradictory, the combination has proven to be both logical and practical through extensive live market testing and data analysis.

Over time, we identified two key market dynamics as the foundation of the strategy: liquidity and imbalances. These elements, in our view, are consistently targeted by the market, and thus form the strategic focus.

The strategy is intentionally simple:

• 1-hour chart to identify points of interest (POIs) — specifically imbalances or liquidity grabs.

• 5-minute chart for confirmation and precise entry.

• Risk-to-reward is typically fixed at 1.5:1 to 2:1, adjusted based on market conditions.

Usage Terms
If the EA proves successful, you are welcome to use it for your own personal trading. However, it must not be sold, distributed, or used to promote the underlying strategy or trading style.
